November 2019

This is, without a doubt, the longest time that has elapsed between a trip to Ghana and the follow-up blog post. I got back the day before Thanksgiving and spent the next two months working on Christmas mailers and taxes for Eight Oaks. We are expecting our second baby in the next few weeks and I just realized that I never got around to sharing about my trip, although I started this post back in February.

2019 in review

We celebrated 6 years of freedom for the girls in November! It is insufficient to say that they have “grown” in this time: rather they have expanded, heightened, filled out, and flourished. The girls we met in 2013 have evolved into young women.

Lewis Goes to Ghana

We did it! We survived a trip across the Atlantic with a 12-month old in tow. I cannot overemphasize how grateful we are for the prayers that surrounded us on this journey. Every single person on the planet is aware of how easily kids get sick, and I truly believe that nothing short of divine intervention kept all three of us perfectly healthy through 32 hours of flying and five days in Ghana.
